interview

A Soldier and a Liar is Now Available!

This was a WHIRLWIND of a week, and I couldn’t be any happier with how everything went. The past few days have easily been some of the most amazing in my life. I feel like I keep saying thank you, but since I have no other words, I’m going to keep saying it. Thank you so, so incredibly much to everyone who made it out to my launch events this weekend, everyone who’s sent me pictures of themselves with my book, everyone who’s sent me messages saying congratulations, everyone who’s gotten excited with me and encouraged me. It’s meant so much to me receiving so much support from family, friends, and strangers alike. Thank you. You all made my dream-come-true the best it could possibly be.

If you want more information on A Soldier and a Liar, I come bearing links!

Xpresso Book Tours hosted a book blogger tour for my book! You can find a collection of reviews, excerpts, giveaways, interviews, and guest blog posts here.

I am very, VERY excited to say I did an interview over on my favorite book blog, Vicky Who Reads! These questions were so much fun, and Vicky is just the kindest person with a great sense for stories.

Over on the Swoon Reads blog, I gave my top tips for managing your time effectively and gave my thoughts on ace rep in YA as someone who’s ace myself.

I also did an interview hosted by another Novel19 debut author, Sofiya Pasternack! Be sure to check out her amazing novel ANYA AND THE DRAGON when it debuts later this year on 9/24/19!

There’s also this super official newspaper article that was published in the Orlando Sentinel about me, my book, and my writing.

So, yeah, between all these different interviews and articles, this is basically everything you could ever want to know about me, haha. I hope you’ll check out anything that catches your interest! And if you read and enjoyed A Soldier and a Liar, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!

Interview with YA SH3LF

Hi, friends!

Since this is my first blog post, I’ll start off with a little introduction. My name is Caitlin Lochner, and I’m the author of the YA dystopian novel A Soldier and a Liar, coming out next February. I’m a giant nerd currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Central Florida, and before that, I was teaching English in Tokyo for three years. If you want to get in touch, please feel free to use my contact form or reach out over social media. I’m generally not active on my own (I’m terrible at keeping up with social media), but I’ll always respond if you reach out!

So, onto the main point of this post. I recently did an interview with YA SH3LF that you can check out here if you’re interested! The person who interviewed me was really kind and enthusiastic, and it was a ton of fun doing this with him. So if you’re curious about my journey before I sold my book, the authors and works that have inspired me, or other fun tidbits, I’d love it if you took a read!

That’s all for now, but I’ll be back with more updates as we get closer to A Soldier and a Liar’s release date. I can’t believe it’s somehow less than three months away now?? Be sure to keep an eye out for a ARC giveaway that I’ll be hosting on Twitter starting 12/19 as well! I’ll post about it again once it’s open, but just wanted to give you guys a heads up.

Ta for now!
